What's the best Divorce Parenting Class for you?

Your choice of which divorce parenting class to take depends on two things: 
1. The level of conflict you're having in your divorce, and 
2. If you'd like to complete part of your class online or all of it in-person

Parent Universities Class Comparison Chart

College of Co-Parenting
Mesa County in-Person Class

This class is appropriate for:
  • Low conflict between parents
  •  History of parenting together
  • Generally amicable relationship
  •  Desire to cooperate
  •  Ability to communicate
  •  No allegations of substance abuse
  •  No allegations of domestic violence
Topics covered include:
  • Children’s reaction to divorce
  • Becoming a co-parenting team
  • Talking to children about their feelings
  • Transitions that work
  • Adult feelings and reactions
  • Fundamentals of good communication
  • What to expect in the future

College of High-Conflict Management
​Mesa County in-Person Class

​This class is appropriate for:
  • Custody, Parent Time disputes
  • Court has ordered CFI or Custody Evaluation (PRRE)
  • Restraining orders,  current or past
  • Substance abuse, alleged or confirmed
  • High conflict (unable to share kids, no or little communication)
  • Domestic abuse, alleged or confirmed

Hybrid Class
​Mesa Cty in-Person + Online

Online Class plus a 2 hour in classroom skills class

You may choose to take either the Co-Parenting or the High Conflict Class in-person

Take this class if:
  • You prefer a partial online format
  •  You are interested in focus on the children and their perspectives
  • ​ Time is an issue
This online class covers:
  •  Effects of conflict on children’s behavior and brain development
  • Adult feelings and reactions 
  • Children’s reaction to divorce 
  • Becoming a co-parenting team 
  • Listening to children through the divorce process 
  • Resiliency factors to support children 
  • Positive parenting skills
  • Basic communication skills

How the Hybrid Class Works

Online portion is $38. The classroom portion is $50.  Click HERE to register for the online class. 
 
Upon completion of the online class,  you may print out a certificate.   Call 970-242-5707 and ask for Charlotte at Parent University.  She will schedule the skills class.  You MUST take a copy of your online certificate for admittance to your in-person class.
