Behavioral Health and Wellness was established in 1992 by Dr. J. Christopher Young and Cheryl Young, M.A., LMFT. The clinic has a team of 18 licensed mental health professionals providing care to clients of all ages. Services include individual, family, and group therapy, psychological testing, biofeedback, and medication management through prescribing nurse practitioners.
Cheryl Young, M.A., LMFT, co-owner of the clinic, has extensive experience in child and family therapy and is recognized statewide as an expert in child custody and child abuse matters. She has conducted court-appointed custody evaluations, served as adjunct faculty at Colorado Mesa University, and is the founder of Parent Universities, where she developed an interactive curriculum for post-relationship parenting education.
Behavioral Health and Wellness offers Co-Parenting and High-Conflict Parenting classes led by licensed therapists with deep knowledge of child development and family dynamics. What sets our classes apart from others is our local focus and practical, interactive approach: participants receive tools and strategies they can immediately apply, learn in a supportive environment, and benefit from instructors who understand the unique needs of Western Slope families.
